A great photograph of the Bill “Bojangles” Robinson at a Harlem ticket campaign for the New York Worlds Fair. The label on the back of the photograph from August 17th, 1939 reads:

Harlem turns out to hear Bill “Bojangles” Robinson make a speech for the New York Worlds Fair Employees Jubilee ticket campaign at the Tree of Hope at 132nd Street and 7th Avenue. Bill’s wife (left center ) gets her “good night” kiss early as Bill rushes back to the fair to tap his way through appearances for the “Hot Mikado.”

Ah, the glory and history of the greatest village in the world (source).
