maysles film festivalIt’s (finally) officially summer in NYC and we’re ready to celebrate the balmy nights with the annual Maysles Summer of Music series in partnership with the Marcus Garvey Park Alliance and Reel Harlem: The Historic Harlem Parks Film Festival. Head to Harlem and join us for evenings filled with music and cinema that will put you in the summer groove. First up tomorrow night the acclaimed jazz/funk fusion Hypnotic Brass Ensemble of eight Chicago-bred brothers came under the guidance of their father, jazz legend Phil Cohran. DJ Laylo will kick off the evening with a “Horn Set” starting at 7:45pm, followed by the screening at 8:45pm. So grab your friends, family, lawn chairs and hang with us for a chill evening of docs and music. As always this series is 100% free although donations and support are most welcome.
