The 41-year-old looked stunning in black and blue printed dress while filming a dancing scene on set of the upcoming Annie in Harlem, New York on Friday.
The remake, directed by Will Gluck and based on a screenplay by Emma Thompson, is being produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith.
Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx is playing the adaptation’s equivalent to the loveable Daddy Warbucks, who takes Annie away from the orphanage.
Foxx plays millionaire Benjamin Stacks, with Rose Byrne as his assistant, while 10-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis stars in the title role as Annie.
It is thought that Jay-Z – a long time fan of the 1982 musical – will be providing some original music for the film.
‘When the TV version [of Annie] came on, I was drawn to it,’ he once revealed. ‘It was the struggle of this poor kid in this environment and how her life changed… It immediately resonated.’
Jay-Z famously sampled the song Hard Knock Life in his 1998 hit of the same name after hearing a DJ play an instrumental version of it.
The original musical is based on the Harold Gray comic strip, Little Orphan Annie, which made its debut in 1924. The Broadway musical opened in 1977 and won seven Tonys.
The feature film based on the musical opened in theatres in 1982 and starred Aileen Quinn as Annie, Albert Finney as Daddy Warbucks and also featured Tim Curry and Bernadette Peters.
