The Roosevelts, An Intimate History, a new documentary by Ken Burns, will be screened for free in the park – and we’re excited to invite you to this special event. The advance screening will show episode two of the seven part series that focuses primarily on Theodore Roosevelt’s preservation work.
Following the family for more than a century, the documentary weaves the stories of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of one of the most prominent and influential families in American politics, into a single narrative. Legendary actress Meryl Streep portrays Eleanor Roosevelt in readings from her personal letters and writings, joined by Paul Giamatti, Edward Herrmann, Patricia Clarkson, Ed Harris, and Billy Bob Thornton, amongst others.

The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, a new seven-part, 14-hour documentary by renowned American filmmaker, Ken Burns, will air for seven consecutive nights beginning September 14 on PBS. In advance of the broadcast premiere, the film’s producers have selected one episode for a special, free screening to be presented in Hudson River Park!

Pier 46 in Hudson River Park [MAP IT]. Cross at Charles Street in Greenwich Village. Take the 1 or PATH to Christopher Street or the A, C, E, B, D, F or M to W. 4th Street and walk west OR take the M8 bus to Christopher Street and West Street.
